Three Cheers for Wine
We know, moms: Witching hour is real and it’s painful. But thank goodness for researchers, because they’ve said wine isn’t just good for a mom’s sanity – it’s also good for her heart.
Studies show that moderate drinking actually leads to lower risks of cardiovascular disease and heart attacks. It opens arteries and increases blood flow – both of which help prevent clogged arteries.
Wine in particular helps increase your “good” cholesterol levels while lowering your “bad” cholesterol. It also contains phenols, an antioxidant known to fight cancer. Plus, women who drink wine in moderation have a 40 percent lower chance of developing Type 2 diabetes.
And if those aren’t reasons enough, the components in wine might actually strengthen your gut and offer some protection against those nasty stomach bugs the kids bring home from school.
So basically, wine is liquid gold. Cheers!
