Make a Healthier Easter Basket
Does Easter make you think of Cadbury Eggs and chocolate bunnies? You're not alone! Many of us grew up with Easter baskets jam-packed with jelly beans and Peeps. But there's a healthier way to do Easter baskets – while still helping your kids learn to enjoy special treats.
"Don't avoid buying a special candy treat," said SwedishAmerican dietitian Molly Sleger. "This is not the way to create a healthy food relationship for kids. Find their favorite Easter candy and include it in their basket."
There are plenty of ways to round out the rest of the basket. They key is – don't do it with food.
