Flu Season Visitors
We love visitors – especially healthy ones! Here at SwedishAmerican, we know that visits with loved ones help our patients feel better. But these visits can get a bit tricky during the flu season. The elderly, pregnant and people with chronic medical conditions are most susceptible to catching the flu. That means many of our patients are at risk of getting even more sick.
So if you’re coming to visit the hospital during flu season, be a good visitor by following these guidelines:
- Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
- Wash your hands often, especially before entering or leaving a hospital room.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Get your flu shot.
- Please skip your visit if you have any of these symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, runny or congested nose, body aches, chills, fatigue, nausea or vomiting or diarrhea.
