Katy’s Place

The Holistic Side of Cancer Care

At Swedes, we know there’s more to cancer care than just physical treatment.

On the second floor of our Regional Cancer Center is a space committed to just that. Katy’s Place is a cancer resource center that can host support groups, exercise classes, art activities and counseling. It’s not just for patients – Katy’s Place is intended to be used by friends and family of cancer patients as well.

The services provided at Katy’s Place are meant to complement medical care, offering holistic services to help patients along their cancer journey. It is directed by a team of health professionals, including Dr. Srivani Sridhar, integrative medicine and family practice physician. They are joined by massage therapists, social workers, physical therapists, nurses, chaplains and others to best address the needs of cancer patients and those who love them.

In case you were wondering who “Katy” is, the space was named in honor of Katy Stenberg, a former SwedishAmerican nurse and volunteer. She survived for 17 years following a diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma before passing away in 2016.
