Is it Allergies?

Allergies can take many forms and can affect many different parts of the body, including the eyes, skin, respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. The allergists and immunology specialists at Swedes evaluate and treat allergic conditions ranging from seasonal allergies and eczema to celiac disease and asthma.

Allergy Testing and treatment

Skin testing is one of the ways allergy specialists at Swedes diagnose allergies to things like pollen, mold, pet dander and food allergies. By applying tiny amounts of suspected allergens to a skin prick, doctors can determine which allergens are triggering symptoms. Additional tests may include skin injection test to check for allergies to penicillin or insect venom. Patch testing is generally used for skin allergies to latex, medications, fragrances and other allergens that cause skin irritation.
Allergy treatment can include desensitization shots for hay fever and sensitivity to stinging insects. Shots can also ease symptoms of allergy-induced eczema and asthma. We also provide guidance on allergy medications and evaluate lung function for respiratory-related allergies.
