SwedishAmerican Welcomes New Regional Cancer Center Director

SwedishAmerican is pleased to announce Natalie Wilson, MBA, BSN, RN has been named director of the Regional Cancer Center. Effective February 12, Natalie previously served as an operations manager at SwedishAmerican Stateline Clinic in Roscoe.

Natalie brings 15 years of nursing experience, ten of which was in pediatric oncology at UW Health, and six years working in management. A Rockford native, Natalie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from Rockford University.

Pediatrician Dr. Manika Bhateja Relocates to Stateline Clinic

SwedishAmerican Pediatrician Dr. Manika Bhateja recently relocated to SwedishAmerican Stateline Clinic, located at 4282 E. Rockton Road, Roscoe. Previously, Dr. Bhateja was located at Rock Valley Clinic in Rockford.

Dr. Bhateja graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. She completed her pediatrics residency training at Michigan State University and is board certified in pediatrics. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has a special interest in disease prevention, childhood obesity and childhood ADD/ADHD.

SwedishAmerican Medical Center/Belvidere Administrator Dawna Menke Receives Outstanding Philanthropist Award

SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health is pleased to announce Dawna Menke, administrator at SwedishAmerican Medical Center/Belvidere, was recently awarded with the Outstanding Philanthropist Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Rockford Chapter during its luncheon on November 15. SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center to Host FREE Support Group for Young Women

The SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center is now hosting a FREE support group specifically geared towards young women with cancer who receive care at SwedishAmerican. Women in their 20s, 30s and early 40s who are attempting to balance work, life with children and relationships with friends and family are encouraged to attend.

The support group will take place on Tuesday evenings in November, starting November 7, from 5:30 – 6:30 PM at Katy’s Place located inside the Regional Cancer Center, 3535 N. Bell School Road, Rockford.

SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health is pleased to welcome three new physicians to its team, Dr. John H. Braxton, Dr. John Kaminski and Dr. Murtaza Rizvi.

Dr. John H. Braxton is SwedishAmerican’s new cardiothoracic surgeon. He is board certified in thoracic surgery and has over 20 years of experience. He joins Dr. Srinivas Kolla in the SwedishAmerican Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic, located within the SwedishAmerican Heart Institute, and will practice exclusively at SwedishAmerican.
