ROCKFORD, Illinois – SwedishAmerican is pleased to welcome new physician assistant Catherine Bopp to UW Health Surgery at SwedishAmerican (1430 Charles Street, Rockford).

A native of Bismarck, North Dakota, Catherine is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She received her medical degree from University of North Dakota, where she was the recipient of the Outstanding Scholarly Project Faculty Choice Award from the PA Program for research on pharmacotherapeutics intervention in pregnant women with opioid use disorder. Catherine’s special medical interests include disease prevention, health and wellness, patient education and preventative medicine.

“I pursued a career in the medical field because I wanted to empower others with the knowledge to better themselves and their health,” Catherine said. “Medicine gives us the ability to provide care to others in such a profound and intimate way. It’s something really special and I’m so glad I am able to be a part of it.

“I am dedicated to providing the best evidence-based care with a collaborative team of healthcare professionals. I hope to go the extra mile for my patients.”
