ROCKFORD, Illinois – SwedishAmerican is pleased to welcome new advanced practice registered nurse Elizabeth Zook to the Heart Institute (1340 Charles Street, Rockford).

A native of Rockford, Elizabeth received her medical degree from Walden University and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has special medical interests in cardiac health, disease prevention, holistic medicine, patient education and women’s health.

Elizabeth is an active volunteer in our community, having helped the Rockford Township determine need for homeless residents in the Rockford area, and she has also volunteered as a NICU Cuddler.

I pursued this career because I wanted to continue helping patients in a more advanced role,” Elizabeth said. “I treat everyone how I would like my family or myself to be treated, and I include patients in their care plans so they can be individualized and successful.

I am excited to join the team at SwedishAmerican Heart Institute, and look forward to using my 10 years of cardiac bedside nursing as the basis for my advanced practice.”
