SwedishAmerican Turns its Campus Blue in Honor of Fallen Rockford Police Officer Jaimie Cox

SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health is turning its campus blue in honor of fallen Rockford Police Officer Jaimie Cox. The hospital has placed blue bows in front of the Emergency Department, Heart Hospital and main hospital entrances to honor Officer Cox and pay tribute to all first responders.

SwedishAmerican is also dedicating a tree near the Emergency Department entrance to be filled with blue ribbons. Hundreds of SwedishAmerican associates will tie a ribbon on the tree both Wednesday, November 8 and Thursday, November 9 to show their support.

“SwedishAmerican would like to send its most heartfelt condolences to Officer Cox’s family and the entire Rockford Police Department,” says SwedishAmerican President & CEO Dr. Michael Born. “Placing blue ribbons around our hospital campus is a way SwedishAmerican and our associates can help honor Officer Cox and say thank you to those who are on the front lines every single day.”

Lastly, children from the SwedishAmerican Ryan Jury Child Development Learning Center are handcrafting dozen of cards to thank Rockford Police Department officers for their service and commitment to keeping our community safe. The Strong Neighborhood House, established by the Rockford Police Department and SwedishAmerican Foundation, also turned blue by replacing its front porch lights with blue ones.
