SwedishAmerican State Street Mile to Giveaway Cash Prizes to Top High School, Middle School and Elementary Schools

The 34th annual State Street Mile, presented by SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health, will be held Saturday, August 4 in downtown Rockford. Similar to years past, the committee will give away $1,000 to the high school that has the most registered and most participating students, staff and faculty. The committee is also awarding middle and elementary schools. The winning middle school will receive $750 and the winning elementary school will receive $500. Attendees are encouraged to wear their school apparel on race day.

“The school challenge is a great way to involve kids of all ages to participate in the SwedishAmerican State Street Mile,” said Race Director Rick Durso. “The run is all about promoting health and bringing together families and individuals of all ages. We look forward to working with our local schools and giving back to them.”

Runners and students are encouraged to sign-up for the race soon at http://www.rockfordroadrunners.org/state-street-mile.html. For more information on State Street Mile, contact Race Director Rick Durso, (815) 985-7656 or like us on Facebook at facebook.com/statestreetmilerockford.
