SwedishAmerican Special Care Nursery Reunion Scheduled for August 25

SwedishAmerican is calling all Special Care Nursery (SCN) superheroes and encouraging them to grab their cape and come in a flash for one big reunion bash!

SwedishAmerican’s Special Care Nursery is hosting its annual reunion on  Saturday, August 25 from 10 AM – 12 PM. Hundreds of former patients, now kids of all ages, will celebrate with other “superheroes” and reunite with SwedishAmerican’s SCN doctors, nurses and staff. The reunion will be held in the in the Camelot Tower parking lot on SwedishAmerican’s campus, 1415 E. State Street, Rockford. If it rains we’ll take the party inside in the Heart Hospital first floor conference rooms.

The reunion provides an opportunity for SwedishAmerican SCN staff to see how far some of the tiniest and sickest patients have come and families will have a chance to reunite with the nurses and doctors they grew close with during their time in the SCN.

Additionally, the reunion will provide entertainment and activities for children of all ages including a photo booth, temporary tattoos, superhero mask decorating, Pickles the Clown, interactive games and more. Donuts and refreshments will be provided and every participant will walk away with a gift and have a chance at winning a Target gift card.

“Our SCN staff and providers are extremely thrilled to reunite with the patients and family members who had to spend time in our unit,” says SwedishAmerican Pediatrics and Special Care Nursery Manager Paula Culvey. “Many of our doctors and nurses helped these families during a very difficult and stressful time of their life so to have a celebration and reunite with the patients and family members is really exciting.”

SCN families are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, August 22 at tiny.cc/SCNReunion.
