SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center Releases 2016 Annual Report
The SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center is pleased to announce the release of its annual report for 2015, which contains a summary of the cancer center's analytic and non-analytic incidences of cancer cases in 2014.
Additionally, the report also includes a comprehensive report on endometrial cancer from Medical Oncologist Dr. William Schulz. His report compares and analyzes the evaluation, incidence rates, stage, treatments and survival of endometrial cancer in patients seen at the SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center and compares the center's performance against the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB).
Over the past year the cancer center has seen steady growth, including the addition of virtual tumor boards with UW Health. The specialty care provided by UW physicians at SwedishAmerican has grown to include gynecological surgical oncology clinics and colorectal surgical clinics.
The Regional Cancer Center recently was named a Screening Center of Excellence by the Lung Cancer Alliance (LCA) for its ongoing commitment to responsible lung cancer screening. Additionally, SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford and SwedishAmerican Medical Center/Belvidere were both designated as Lung Cancer Screening Centers by the American College of Radiology for practicing safe, effective diagnostic care for individuals at the highest risk for lung cancer.
The report is available at: www.swedishamerican.org/CAR. Alternatively, it can be found within the Cancer Care section of SwedishAmerican's Web site (under the “Services” tab).
