SwedishAmerican Named One of the Nation’s Top Hospitals for 11th Year

SwedishAmerican is proud to announce it has been recognized as one of the nation’s top hospitals by the National Research Corporation’s (NRC) Consumer Choice Awards. The award identifies hospitals chosen by healthcare consumers as having the highest quality and image in markets throughout the U.S. This is the 11th time SwedishAmerican has earned this prestigious award.

Winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company's Market Insights survey, the largest online healthcare consumer survey in the country. This study surveys over 300,000 households in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. From the households surveyed, hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on their Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with the winning facilities being ranked the highest.

“Quality is SwedishAmerican’s greatest priority. It drives all that we do from treatment, prevention, education and care for the whole person,” says Chief Medical and Chief Quality Officer Dr. Michael Born. “SwedishAmerican is extremely honored to receive this award and even more honored to be recognized by the patients we serve.”

This isn’t the only quality award the hospital has earned. In recent years, SwedishAmerican’s commitment to quality and excellence has resulted in more national awards for quality and preference than any other health system in northern Illinois.
