SwedishAmerican to Host Puttin’ On the Glitz on November 11

Local television news anchors, hospital professionals and individuals whose lives have been touched by cancer will model the latest fashions from Dress Barn and Men’s Warehouse during SwedishAmerican’s annual Puttin’ On the Glitz fashion show/luncheon on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, at 11:00 AM at Giovanni’s. The event is a fundraiser for SwedishAmerican’s oncology patients and their families.

This year’s models include Kristin Crowley, Sean Muserallo and daughter, Morgan Kolkmeyer and Danielle Tumilowicz, WREX-TV; Mike Garrigan, Whitney Martin, Marissa Lesner and Briana Collins, WIFR-TV; Mimi Murphy, Christie Nicks and son Jack, WTVO/FOX-TV; Anna Derocher, Kevin Haas, Rebecca Rose and son Landon, Rockford Register Star; Rockford Fire Department Lieutenant Trent Brass; Rockford Police Department Assistant Deputy Chief Doug Pann; SwedishAmerican Board Member and Veteran Pat Derry; SwedishAmerican Chief Medical Officer Dr. Michael Born; SwedishAmerican Radiation Oncologist Dr. Ben Durkee; SwedishAmerican UW Health Surgeon and Veteran Dr. James Cole; SwedishAmerican Physician and Veteran Dr. Susan DeGuide; Gastroenterologist and Veteran Dr. John DeGuide; and Kristin Hagenlocher, medical records coordinator at Network Medical Review. Sean Henry and Michelle Marcomb from B103 will emcee this year’s fashion show.

During the luncheon, the Commitment to Caring award will be presented to an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution of time, talent and effort in the Rockford community. The award will continue the legacy of individuals such as, Dr. Henry C. Anderson, Betty Henry, and Dr. Robert Klint, all long-time supporters of SwedishAmerican who also gave back to the Rockford community through numerous volunteer and philanthropic efforts.

The event also will feature an online silent auction. Beginning Monday, October 31, anyone can visit www.galabid.com/glitz2016 to create an account and begin bidding on a wide array of silent auction items. The silent auction will end during the Puttin’ on the Glitz event at 1 PM on Friday, November 11. Winners need not be present to win.
