SwedishAmerican to Host Puttin’ On the Glitz on November 10

Local television news anchors, hospital professionals and individuals whose lives have been touched by cancer will model the latest fashions from B Jones Boutique and Men’s Wearhouse during SwedishAmerican’s annual Puttin’ On the Glitz fashion show/luncheon on Friday, November 10, at 11:00 AM at Giovanni’s. The event is a fundraiser for SwedishAmerican’s oncology patients and will go towards patient and family support services and resources.

This year’s models include Kristin Crowley, Sean Muserallo, Alex Kirchner and Mary Sugden from WREX-TV; Mike Garrigan, Briana Collins, Mark Henderson and Danielle Tumilowicz from WIFR-TV; Mimi Murphy, Christie Nicks, Jay Leonardi and Kristin Cwynar from WTVO/FOX-TV; Kevin Haas and Rebecca Rose from the Rockford Register Star; Steve Summers from Midwest Family Broadcasting; Shannon Zimmerman and Mandy James from Cumulus Broadcasting; Rockford Fire Captain John Dempsey; SwedishAmerican Radiation Oncologists Dr. Joycelyn Speight and Dr. Ben Durkee; SwedishAmerican Family Physicians and husband and wife Dr. Kayla and Joe Kimbell; and Jennifer Muraski with Muraski Monument Company. WREX Morning Show Co-Hosts Elliot Grandia and Austin Love will emcee this year’s fashion show. 

During the luncheon, the Commitment to Caring Award will be presented to a local group who has made an extraordinary contribution of time, talent and effort in the Rockford community. Previous winners include K Cancer Baseball and Mayor Greg Jury and his wife Kelly. 

The event also will feature an online silent auction. Beginning Friday, October 27, anyone can visit www.galabid.com/glitz2017 to create an account and begin bidding on a wide array of silent auction items. The silent auction will end during the Puttin’ on the Glitz event at 1 PM on Friday, November 10. Winners need not be present to win.
