SwedishAmerican to Host Free Breast Cancer Awareness Program, October 2

On Monday, October 2, at 6:30 PM, SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health will host Planting the Seeds of Hope, a FREE breast cancer awareness program, at Giovanni’s, 610 N. Bell School Road in Rockford.

Attendees can arrive at 5:30 PM to register and browse informative healthcare exhibits. At 6:30 PM, SwedishAmerican President and CEO Dr. Michael Born will provide an update on the health system.

Kelly Epperson, writer, speaking and mentor will present Laughter: The (Almost) Best Medicine! An expert panel comprised of an OB/GYN, Oncologist, Radiation Oncologist, Radiologist, Surgeon and Genetic Counselor will discuss the latest innovations in breast healthcare and answer questions from the audience. Lastly, Kristin Crowley, evening anchor for WREX and emcee for the evening, will interview Lindsey McClanathan, breast cancer survivor.

This event provides important information on breast health, allows participants to connect with others who may be going through the same battle and most importantly, provides hope.”
