The SwedishAmerican Foundation is excited to announce its annual gala on Saturday, March 2 at Giovanni’s, 610 North Bell School Road, Rockford.

Swedes’ Night will feature food, dancing, dueling pianos, and a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting SwedishAmerican’s new Creekside Medical Center, a 70,000-square-foot multispecialty clinic set to open in July at 3505 North Bell School Road.

More than 450 people attended Swedes Night in 2018, raising $170,000 to support SwedishAmerican’s new Riverwest Clinic at 815 Marchesano Drive on Rockford’s southwest side, which opened in January.

This year, SwedishAmerican is “Celebrating 100 More Years of Philanthropy.”

“For more than 100 years, since 1911, when a man named O.F. Nilson donated a single dollar to the construction of the original SwedishAmerican Hospital, SwedishAmerican has grown and thrived thanks to our partnership with our donors,” says SwedishAmerican Foundation director Laura Wilkinson. “As SwedishAmerican looks to the future, with more expansion projects that promise to bring remarkable healthcare to more patients than ever before, we want to pause and celebrate that partnership and the power of philanthropy.”

Swedes’ Night kicks-off at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and drinks followed by dinner and a dueling pianos performance. Guests will also enjoy a photo booth and bidding on more than 35 silent auction items, ranging from a vacation to Kiawah Island to lunch with SwedishAmerican president and CEO Dr. Michael J. Born. Online bidding has begun and is open to the public. Visit www.galabid.com/swedes2019 to create an account and bid until 9 p.m. on March 2, the night of the event. Winners need not be present to win.

Tickets for Swedes’ Night are $2,000 for a table of ten. Sponsorships are also available. For more information, contact the SwedishAmerican Foundation at (779) 696-2496.
