SwedishAmerican First Hospital in Rockford to Implement Tablet Rounding Tool to Enhance Patient and Family Experience
SwedishAmerican is pleased to announce that it is the first hospital in Rockford to use a real-time nurse rounding application to enhance patients’ experiences. As an early adopter of the technology, SwedishAmerican provides its nurse managers with specially-equipped tablets for assessing all aspects of a patient’s hospital stay, including their medical care, nutrition services, the general environment of their room and more.
By switching to real-time technology, nurses can now report real-time feedback. The app allows SwedishAmerican’s Guest Relations department to see trends and priorities and track each question and response with graphs and charts. This gives SwedishAmerican’s staff the ability to fix any issues on the spot and ensure a safe, positive patient experience.
“Real-time feedback is integral for our nurses, and other departments in the hospital, to provide the best care to our patients,” says SwedishAmerican Guest Relations Manager Leo Medrano. “It helps us become more efficient and provide the best experience possible. We are extremely excited to be the first hospital in Rockford to use this advanced technology, and to announce that it is working. We do not get as many post discharge complaints now that we’ve been able to fix them in real-time.”
SwedishAmerican also is looking into adopting tablets in other departments in the hospital, including Environmental Services and the Engineering department.
