SwedishAmerican Awards Fifteen Scholarships to Associates’ Children

As college tuition costs continue to rise, the good news is that SwedishAmerican is here to ease some of the burden through our Associates’ Children Scholarship Program, which recently provided 15 one-year $1,000 scholarships to children of SwedishAmerican associates. To be considered for the scholarship, each applicant submitted an application, written essay, ACT scores, class rank, official school transcript, completed applicant appraisal, a personal letter of recommendation and a copy of his or her letter of acceptance.

Local winners are: Hannah Blasinski, son of Michele (Lab); Kyle Blunt, son of Melinda (Valley Clinic); Nathaniel Campos, son of Michelle (Professional Practice); Ann Bernadette Carpio, daughter of Johnny (Cardiac Surveillance Unit); Daniel Coe, son of Judith (Lab); Kaylyn Erickson, daughter of Peggy (Stateline Clinic); Haley Gilligan, daughter of Jill (Immediate Care); Kiley Golden, daughter of Tracy (Regional Cancer Center); Cedric Ignacio, son of Amanda (Sleep Lab); Sarah Koepsell, daughter of Ann (SAMC/B); Taylor Mailhot, daughter of Susan Schneider (Surgery Dept.); Jenna Roecker, daughter of Dawn (Belvidere Clinic); Andrew Shike, son of Christine (Regional Cancer Center); Emma Sovine, daughter of Amy (Home Healthcare); Skyler Yunk, son of Debbie (Information Systems).

“Our Associates’ Children Scholarship Program is just one more example of how we are working to positively impact our associates and community,” says SwedishAmerican Vice President of Human Resources Jerry Guinane. “We are pleased to offer this opportunity to our associates and their children as the costs of higher education continue to rise. As it is every year, this year’s selection process was extremely difficult, and we express our gratitude over the interest these young men and women have shown in the program.”
