New SwedishAmerican Wound Care Clinic Location Now Open; Free Open House on June 16

SwedishAmerican is pleased to announce that its new Wound Care Clinic is now open, officially replacing its existing clinic. Located in the same building but on the first floor of Camelot Tower, 1415 E. State Street, Suite 100, the more than 2,900-square-foot facility houses five large exam rooms, a central nurses station, staff locker room, staff offices, a large waiting room and 4 foot doors and ground floor access to allow for easier accessibility for mobility challenged patients.

The new clinic still enables SwedishAmerican to care for its patients who have wounds that won’t heal because of diabetes or other health conditions. The Wound Care Clinic’s team of specialists includes vascular surgeons, general surgeons, podiatric surgeons, registered nurses, advance practice nurses, therapists and other medical professionals. The team uses the latest, most advanced treatments to help wounds heal so that patients can get back to enjoying life.

Additionally, the new clinic still provides hyperbaric oxygen treatment, which involves breathing 100 percent oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. The treatment quickly delivers high concentrations of oxygen to the blood stream, assists in the healing process of wounds and is effective in fighting certain types of infections. This treatment is still located on the 6th floor of Camelot Tower.

“We are very excited to officially open our new Wound Care Clinic,” says SwedishAmerican Wound Care Clinic APN Catherine Rogers. “Our Wound Care Clinic has had a presence in Rockford for more than 20 years. Our new clinic represents SwedishAmerican’s ongoing commitment to our patients and we look forward to continuing to provide convenient access to high-quality healthcare.”

To celebrate the opening of the new Wound Care Clinic, SwedishAmerican is hosting a special celebration on Thursday, June 16 from 3 – 7 PM. Attendees will enjoy free food, win door prizes and giveaways, and take a tour of the facility. In addition, staff members and physicians will be on-hand to welcome guests and answer questions.
