History

We Have a Deep History

For more than a century, SwedishAmerican has grown with the region we serve. Through the struggles and contributions of countless individuals, and the pioneering efforts of early medical professionals, we’ve evolved into the organization we are today. Though treatments and technologies have changed since we first opened our doors, our commitment has not.

Centennial History Book

During our 100th anniversary, we published a history book about our organization. It Began with a Dollar is a fascinating journey through the important events that shaped who we are. The book profiles many of the medical trailblazers who paved the way for modern healthcare delivery. If interested, you can find the book for sale in both of our hospital gift shops.

Hospital Museum
