Frequently Asked Questions
What do Orthopedists treat?
Orthopedics is the branch of medicine that deals with the treatment, correction, or prevention of injuries or diseases to the skeletal system and associated muscles, joints and ligaments.
What should I do in case of an emergency?
After office hours, please dial the office number and your emergency calls will be taken by our answering service. The answering service will notify the physician on-call and he or she will return your call as soon as possible. If you are in need of immediate medical attention, you will be directed to seek the appropriate medical care.
Do I need a referral?
We recommend that you contact your health plan for the most current information regarding your benefits.
How long will it take to fill out disability forms?
Although we strive to complete your paperwork as quickly as possible, we ask that you plan sufficiently as we do allow five business days to process requests. We also ask that you have filled out your portion and will be happy to contact you once your paperwork is complete.
Prescription and Medication Renewals
If you need a prescription refill, for faster service, please call your pharmacy and ask them to fax the refill order to SAMG/Lundholm Orthopedics at (815) 397-5926. Some refill orders may request us to schedule a visit and/or lab testing before the prescription can be refilled. Please allow one to two days to process your request, and be sure to let us know about any new medications you are taking.
Can I be seen/worked in today?
If you would like to be seen today, please make this known. Our physicians will review your request/paper work/ER reports and make a determination whether or not our schedule will allow it. Rest assured, we will attempt to schedule you as soon as possible.
Can I fill out any paperwork prior to my visit in order to decrease my wait time?

Are wheelchairs available?
Yes, wheelchairs are available at the clinic for assisting our patients during their appointment.
Are x-rays taken in the office?
Yes, additional x-rays that may be needed at the time of your visit can be ordered and performed in our clinic.
Are your physicians board certified?
Yes, all of our orthopedic surgeons are board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Is it necessary to bring previous records, x-rays, MRI’s, etc to my clinic appointment?
Any information that you can provide us that would help us with your care would be greatly appreciated. |
