EMS/Trauma Services
Professional and Public Education
SwedishAmerican provides quality EMS education throughout the region. Our educational offerings include:
- CPR
- First Aid
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
Additionally, we are a community training center for the American Heart Association; part of a demonstration project for Continuous Cardiac Compression CPR; and the sponsor of the Midwest Regional Extrication Competition, in which rescue teams have the opportunity to compete in scenarios that test their teamwork and skill. Additionally, we are the lead organization in the Winnebago County SAFE KIDS Coalition, whose mission is to reduce accidental injury in children 14 and under. SAFE KIDS sponsors weekly car seat checks by appointment (call 815-968-2500), community based car seat checks and bike rodeos.
