Childbirth is a magical experience, and at the SwedishAmerican Family BirthPlace we strive to make it as special and memorable as possible. Because we deliver more babies than any other hospital in northern Illinois, you can feel comfortable knowing that you and your baby will receive the very best care possible.
Besides giving expectant mothers the freedom to customize their birthing experience, we offer the region's loveliest birthing suites, extend privileges to the most popular obstetricians and family physicians and provide peace of mind through our Special Care Nursery. We also offer a variety of classes, including prenatal, breastfeeding and a Boot Camp for New Dads.
For mothers who decide to breast-feed, SwedishAmerican offers two certified lactation consultants who provide support and education during a mother's hospital stay, and after new parents go home via the SwedishAmerican WarmLine — (815) 489-4890. Our consultants also work with new mothers to select the correct breast pump.
