Radiation Oncology
The Radiation Oncology Center at SwedishAmerican has provided comprehensive cancer care to inpatients and outpatients since 1975. Radiation therapy is a proven and effective way to treat many kinds of cancer in almost any part of the body.
Radiation Treatment
Half of all people with cancer are treated with radiation, and the number of cancer patients who have survived is rising every day. For many patients, radiation is the only kind of treatment needed, and many are free of cancer after having radiation treatments alone or in combination with surgery, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
Physicians and Staff
Staff physicians Prakash Pedapati, M.D. and Virendra Saxena, M.D. are board certified in the field of radiation oncology. They work in cooperation with medical oncologists, surgeons, pathologists and other specialists to provide optimal cancer care.
In addition to our physicians, SwedishAmerican's Radiation Oncology Department includes a variety of other skilled professionals who are trained in the treatment of cancer. Together, they help to make cancer treatment go as smoothly as possible for patients and their families.
