At SwedishAmerican Hospital, a number of different procedures and tests are available on an outpatient basis. Following are answers to some frequently asked questions about our Outpatient Center.
1. What services are offered in the Outpatient Center (OPC)?
Laboratory testing, including blood draws, specimen drop-off, or other testing as ordered by your physician
Pre-admission testing for surgery
ECG (EKG) testing
2. Where is the OPC?
The OPC is conveniently located near our E. State Street entrance with free valet parking services available to expedite your visit.
3. What are the Hours of the OPC Outpatient Center?
Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to noon
4. What do I do if I need a diagnostic test?
First, you must have written orders from your physician.
The orders can be faxed directly to the OPC from your physician’s office or you may bring the orders with you to the hospital.
Your physician’s office staff may also schedule your testing through Central Scheduling.
5. How will I get my test results?
The physician who ordered your test will provide the results to you and answer your questions about your testing.
Never assume everything is normal just because you didn’t hear from the doctor.
Always contact the physician’s office for the results whenever you have any diagnostic testing performed.
You may also request copies of the results of any testing performed at the hospital from the Medical Records department.
6. Will you bill my insurance?
Yes, SwedishAmerican will gladly bill your insurance provider. Please bring your insurance card with you when you come for the testing, so that we can verify the correct information to accurately submit the bill to your payer.
