The museum is named in honor of Dr. Henry C. Anderson, M.D., who was instrumental in our health system's quality initiatives. Before serving as SwedishAmerican's vice president for professional affairs and chief quality officer, Dr. Anderson practiced family medicine in Rockford for more than 40 years.
In addition, our 200-page history book, It Began with a Dollar, is available for purchase at our hospital gift shops. It tells the story of SwedishAmerican’s first 100 years through stunning photos and intriguing stories.
Although the treatments and technologies have changed since we first opened our doors, our commitment has not. Today, we are just as devoted to the alleviation of sickness and suffering as we were at the time of our founding.
