Services | Non-Invasive Testing (Echo, Nuclear Medicine)
The Heart Hospital provides patients with a convenient location for a number of outpatient cardiac testing procedures. In addition to stress tests and vascular studies, these include echocardiograms and nuclear medicine testing.
Nuclear Medicine is a form of medical imaging that checks heart function and structure. After introducing a small amount of a radioactive substance (a radiopharmaceutical) into the patient's body, nuclear medicine produce pictures of the heart on a computer screen for the radiologist to view. At SwedishAmerican, robotic technology produces clearer images and reduces testing times.
The Heart Hospital's Nuclear Medicine Department includes large, bright, airy and visually appealing rooms. New equipment allows us to provide more comfortable care to larger patients, as well as those who are sensitive to tight spaces.
Echocardiogram is an ultrasound study of the heart that provides information on the pumping ability of the heart, abnormalities of heart valve function, and chamber wall movement.
