HEART HOSPITAL
Services | Heart Clinic
Heart failure is a significant chronic illness. An estimated 5 million Americans suffer from heart failure, and nearly 500,000 new patients are diagnosed each year. In an effort to help patients and healthcare providers effectively evaluate and manage heart failure, SwedishAmerican has developed The Heart Clinic.
Specializing in prevention, education, and treatment, the Heart Clinic is dedicated to providing comprehensive outpatient care to patients with heart failure and chronic angina, as well as those who are at risk for developing heart disease. The clinic's team of cardiac professionals includes cardiologists, advanced practice nurses, cardiovascular registered nurses and support personnel.
The Heart Clinic provides:
- Easy access for patients to be seen in a timely manner for assessment, evaluation and treatment of their heart failure or chronic angina
- Resources for patients with symptomatic problems or questions
- Education on risk factor modification, procedures, diet, medications and more
- Help with drug assistance programs, when needed
- Samples of cardiac medications provided as patients move toward treatment goals
Our specialty clinic also offers Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP), which increases blood flow and oxygen supply to heart muscle. This new non-invasive treatment is designed for chronic angina patients who are no longer candidates for cardiac invasive procedures or surgery.
The Heart Clinic is located on the first floor of the Heart Hospital at SwedishAmerican. For more information, please call (815) 315-6120.
