Services | Patient/Family Education
The Heart Hospital is dedicated to providing ongoing health management through education. Our patients are provided with daily educational classes related to their cardiac rehabilitation. Education is provided by a number of caring professionals, including a congestive heart failure coordinator, diabetic educator, cardiovascular coordinator, and dietitian.
In addition, patients have access to an education center that includes computer access, books, visual aids, and more. Easily understandable information and easy-to-use tools facilitate education about the heart, its conditions and its care.
The Gloyd Learning Center is a unique interactive computerized learning tool, positioned in the lobby of the Heart Hospital. This one-of-a-kind, six-by-nine-foot computerized touch-screen display provides a fun, "hands-on" educational opportunity to Heart Hospital visitors. Visitors and family members are able to interact with diagrams, videos and text to learn more about how the heart functions, ways to live a heart-healthy lifestyle, how to support the patient, and more about the Heart Hospital itself. The Gloyd Learning Center was funded by a generous grant from the Gloyd Family Foundation.
