Services | Cardiac Catheterization Lab
The Heart Hospital at SwedishAmerican offers five digital cardiac catheterization labs for patients. These labs are configured in different ways to allow the latest technology to be specifically applied to diagnose and treat both heart and other vascular disease. In addition to cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angioplasties and stents, procedures are performed to address adult congenital heart problems, including atrial-septal defects. Peripheral diagnostic and interventional include carotid stenting and endografts.
A new Electrophysiology Lab is currently being constructed to further enhance our existing state-of-the-art services to diagnose and treat problems with the heart's electrical system. EP studies allow physicians to diagnose causes of abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) and identify the best treatment, which may include medication, a pacemaker, defibrillator, or elimination of abnormal tissue (ablation).
