SwedishAmerican Medical Group Welcomes Three New Physicians

SwedishAmerican Medical Group is pleased to announce the addition of three new physicians.
Mubashir Ahmed, MD
Dr. Ahmed, MD, FACP, FHM has joined Midwest Heart Specialists/AMG at SwedishAmerican.
Dr. Ahmed is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology with a special interest in transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and advanced heart failure. Additionally, Dr. Ahmed is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a fellow in Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Ahmed received his medical degree from Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences in India and completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois, St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. He continued training with fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey and heart failure and transplant at the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
Gaurav Shah, DO
Dr. Shah, DO, FACP, FHM has joined Midwest Heart Specialists/AMG at SwedishAmerican.
Dr. Shah is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and board eligible in interventional cardiology. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Shah’s specialist interests include coronary and peripheral angiography, echocardiography and management of congestive heart failure and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Shah received his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Iowa and completed an internal medicine residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. He continued training with fellowships in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Warren, Michigan.
Jeffrey Shuhaiber, MD
Dr. Shuhaiber is a cardiothoracic surgeon who has joined Dr. David Cheng of Cardiac Surgery Associates and Dr. John Myers in practice at SAMG/Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Shuhaiber is board certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery. He has a special interest in adult congenital heart surgery and valve disease, and in heart and lung failure. Additionally, he is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery and the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Shuhaiber graduated with honors and distinction from King’s College London School of Medicine in England. He completed residency in surgery at the University of Illinois Health Sciences Center in Chicago and in thoracic surgery at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. Dr. Shuhaiber continued with fellowships in adult cardiac surgery at the University of Cambridge and in congenital heart surgery at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals in England.
