SwedishAmerican Foundation to Host 20th Annual Fundraising Gala on March 1
February 14, 2014
Cruise '14, the SwedishAmerican Foundation's annual spring gala, is scheduled for Saturday, March 1 at Giovanni’s Restaurant & Conference Center, 610 N. Bell School Road, Rockford.
"We are excited to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Cruise this year,” says Foundation Director Laura Wilkinson. “We are thrilled about the outstanding support coming from our community. It will be a fantastic night that cannot be missed.”
Proceeds from Cruise will again benefit the new SwedishAmerican Regional Cancer Center, which opened in October 2013. Celebrating its 20th year, the event offers a special evening of music, dancing, a dazzling array of food, a silent auction, wine pull and raffle.
Guests, who are encouraged to wear cruise or island attire, will be greeted by "Steel Drum Band." Guests can then visit ports-of-call featuring the foods of Sweden, Italy, Germany, Asia and the Caribbean. Throughout the evening guests can bid on an array of silent auction items and dance to the sounds of the popular Rockford DJ Sound Productions.
The Cruise '14 committee includes Michelle Adams, Dorothy Anderson, Dr. Henry Anderson, Mary DeMarco, Mark DeWane, Patti DeWane, Carol Evans, Kay Flodin, Sue Gorski, Erich Hagenlocher, Jan Hagenlocher (chair), Deborah Johnson, Melody Pobjecky, Barbara Shirk, Norm Shirk, Steve Schou, Laura Wilkinson and Julia Zimmerman.
