SwedishAmerican Health System to Co-Host Professional Diabetes Conference

SwedishAmerican Health System and the Northern Illinois Diabetes Coalition will provide a professional diabetes conference for healthcare providers on Wednesday, March 5 at Giovanni’s Restaurant & Conference Center, 610 N. Bell School Road, Rockford. The conference, entitled “Taking the Mystery Out of Diabetes Care,” will take place from 8:25 AM to 4 PM (registration and exhibits from 7:45 AM to 8:20 AM) and will bring together leaders in healthcare to discuss updates in diabetes health.
The conference will feature keynote speaker, Timothy Reid, MD, Mercy Health System in Janesville, Wisconsin. Dr. Reid specializes in family practice and endocrinology and diabetes in metabolism. Additional speakers include Melissa Joy Dobbins, MS, RD, LDN, CDE, spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; David Bartels, PharmD, vice dean, UIC College of Pharmacy at Rockford; and Sue Chapman, BSN, RN, CDE, senior diabetes clinical manager, at Medtronic Diabetes.

Cost to attend the conference is $75 per person, which includes lunch. Attendees also will have the opportunity to receive continuing nursing education credits through the Ohio Nurses Association.
