Local Health Systems Sponsor Community End-of-Life Discussion

OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Rockford Health System and SwedishAmerican Health System are partnering to bring Rockford-area residents a powerful and inspiring 60-minute documentary that explores multiple perspectives on end-of-life conversations and care.

On Thursday, October 10, the organizations will host Consider the Conversation at the Coronado Performing Arts Center, located at 314 North Main Street in downtown Rockford. This thought-provoking film includes intimate accounts from patients, family members, doctors, nurses, clergy, social workers and national experts. A question-and-answer panel will take place after the film with the filmmakers and a panel of local healthcare experts.

Attendees will learn more about:

•The importance of advance care planning for all ages

•Emotional, physical and social burdens of dying

•Talking with others about end-of-life wishes

Doors for this special presentation open at 6:30 PM, providing access to information booths and a musical prelude. The 60-minute film and panel discussion will take place from 7-9 PM. Tickets cost just $5, and pre-registration is required. Those interested in attending can register by calling (815) 971-5050.
