SwedishAmerican Joins Forces with Lincoln Middle School to Beautify the Neighborhood
May 12, 2014
SwedishAmerican Health System and Lincoln Middle School are collaborating on Wednesday, May 14 to spruce up and beautify the neighborhood. SwedishAmerican employees and Lincoln Middle School students will be cleaning the neighborhood between the hours of 7 AM and 4 PM, picking up trash on both campuses.
In addition to the neighborhood clean-up, SwedishAmerican also will host an electronics recycling drive. Employees are encouraged to bring in personal computers, cell phones, DVD players, stereos, televisions and printers for recycling.
“SwedishAmerican takes pride in keeping its campus and neighborhood clean for patients, residents and community members,” says Cathy Schultz, SwedishAmerican’s green team chairperson. “We are excited to team up with Lincoln Middle School students and donate our time and effort to make a big difference in our neighborhood.”
SwedishAmerican is committed to caring for the community and works with several community-based organizations to improve the lives of area residents. Additionally, it has built and rehabilitated over 25 homes and partners with other local high schools and schools in Sweden to revitalize the neighborhood surrounding the hospital.
