SwedishAmerican to Host Free Women’s Heart Health Program in Marengo
April 29, 2013
Although many think of heart disease as an issue for men, in reality, half of all women die of heart-related illnesses. With this in mind, the Heart Hospital at SwedishAmerican will host a heart health program on Tuesday May 7 with SwedishAmerican Medical Group/Marengo at 204 E. Prairie Street, Suite 100.
For your convenience, we will have two sessions to choose from. At 4:30 PM and then again at 6:00 PM, Dr. Cassandra Lopez will introduce Dr. Pratik Parikh, who will discuss the signs/symptoms of heart disease, risk factors, the disease process, treatment options and diabetes. A short question-and-answer period and survivor’s story will follow.
Doors will open for the first session at 4:00 PM and at 5:30 PM for the second session. Be sure to arrive early to browse our informative heart care exhibits and tour the clinic. Please enter on the east side of the building. A light meal and beverages will be served and door prizes will be awarded. Everyone who attends is entered into the drawing for a chance to win one of two Kindles.
Register for this free program, co-sponsored by the SwedishAmerican Foundation, by calling HealthConnect at (800) 996-9954.
