Boone County: A Great Place to Work and Live

Located in northern Illinois, the city of Belvidere is located about 13 miles east of Rockford, Illinois, and is just 60 to 90 minutes from Madison, Chicago and Milwaukee.

Belvidere and the surrounding Boone County area have a rich heritage dating back to the mid-1830s. The city's name means "beautiful to view," which is evident by eye-catching murals that have been painted on many buildings.

From quaint downtown shops to larger shopping centers, Boone County offers many choices for those interested in shopping, dining or lodging. The region's neighborhoods include numerous options, from apartments and condominiums to older historic homes and newer construction.

Making Boone County a great place to live and work are ample opportunities for recreation, including Belvidere Park and River's Edge Recreation Center, as well as events, attractions and festivals like the annual Boone County Fair. Boone County also is home to two school districts that offer high-quality public education.
