More Consumers Prefer SwedishAmerican
SwedishAmerican Hospital has received the 2009-2010 Consumer Choice Award from National Research Corp. (NRC), a leader in healthcare performance measurement. The award identifies hospitals that healthcare consumers have chosen as having the highest quality throughout the United States. This is the fifth consecutive time that SwedishAmerican has received this recognition.
“SwedishAmerican is proud to have been selected by Rockford area residents as their hospital of choice,” says SwedishAmerican President and CEO Dr. Bill Gorski. “The Consumer Choice Award is a testament to our dedicated staff, physicians and volunteers at SwedishAmerican who provide quality care to our patients every day.”
NRC CEO Michael D. Hays says winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the company’s annual NRC Healthcare Market Guide study.
Of the 3,200 hospitals named by consumers in the study, the winning facilities rank highest in their Metropolitan Statistical Areas as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. The 2009-2010 NRC Healthcare Market Guide study surveyed more than 200,000 households representing 400,000 consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.
