Cardiology in the New Millennium
This day-long event begins with northern Illinois' largest healthcare professional conference, in which leading national experts showcase the latest developments in cardiac diagnosis and treatment to physicians, nurses and technologists. The evening portion of consists of two free offerings for the public: a heart health fair and an educational program. The fair allows our community to learn more about prevention, screenings, treatment, technologies and complementary care at more than 30 exhibits. The program, which varies each year, has included heart-healthy cooking demos, live open-heart surgery beamed via satellite from SwedishAmerican Hospital, and expert panel discussions.
